cd/cdrom/dvd manufacturing

you
supply the printing
in this scenario you are essentially completing your entire
project by yourself: all we are really doing is the manufacturing
and packaging!
we
recommend this route be taken by only the brave, or experienced.
"what's so scary about doing my
job this way?"
well, whether you are placing an order for 10,000 dvds or
300 VHS cassettes you are going to have to worry about a lot
of technical sorts of things that you probably don't know
a whole lot about.
that is: since
you are going to be supplying us with finished printing (cd
booklet inserts and traycards or cd slimline j-cards for audio
cds, dvds, and cd-roms - j-cards, u-cards, or o-cards for
cassettes - and VHS sleeves (side or bottom loading) for video)
you are going to have to first make films, which means that
you are going to have to get your design/artwork ready for
film, which means you are going to have to get your design/artwork
ready period... when you have completed your printing you
are then going to have to ship it, here, to us so that we
can package your completed product altogether and then ship
it back to you.
now,
you may work for a very large company which has an in-house
graphics department, which may have a lot of experience designing
things for your company website... but that doesn't mean that
they know anything about CMYK, dot gain, linescreen, paper
stock, imagesetters, trapping, silk screening, and moirier
patterns... OR you may be a musician who knows a guy
that works at a printers down the street and is going to get
you a great deal on cd booklets (even though they specialize
in catfood boxes)...
whatever
your situation may be, we urge you to be careful
there have been many people who have decided for whatever
reasons (sometimes simply monetary) to take care of everything
themselves... and they have been just fine. they were lucky
enough to work with people who were experienced, and competent
and managed to get through the entire process in one piece...
there were, however, a lot more people who decided to "do
it themselves" and lost a lot of time, and money (and
in some casese even the quality of their final product) because
they went with "the guy down the street" and learned
that you really do get what you paid for.
